Saturday and sunday market

Every Saturday and Sunday, there is a market on the square in front of the Municipal Theatre (10 minutes’ walk from ADA). At the Saturday market, you will find a wide range of exotic fruit and vegetables. Besides the Mediterranean and southern specialities, you’ll find local products here too. The Vogeltjesmarkt (Sunday market) traces its origins back to the 16th century, when poultry and small livestock were traded on the Meir. In the year 1912, the Vogeltjesmarkt (read the birdmarket) moved to its current location and was expanded to include other products such as clothing, shoes, antiques, food and food stalls.
